My name is Scott Shangguan. I truly love writing letters and the excitement of finding a letter in the mailbox! I work on a computer for a living, and find it all so impersonal. There is nothing like knowing that somebody spent the time to sit down and write a letter to you. Have a wonderful Day! I am a forty-one year old American male who just moved back to the U. S., after living in China for the past ten years. I have come back to regroup after the loss of my wife. I grew up in a small farming community in northern Wisconsin and am still a farmer at heart, although I sell tea and do web-design for a living. I have been interested in Chinese history and culture my whole life and came to China for a visit, and never left. I love reading and gardening, collecting antiques, studying history, movies, and so much more. I certainly have a lot to write about after living in China for so long and then coming back to the U. S.. I do not write short letters. My letters are generally around 10 pages long, but do not expect that many, in reply. I love to write, because I find it an escape from the stresses of life. I am not one of those who writes once or twice and then disappears. I also like to send postcards, cards, and little gifts occasionally. I write using only dip pens. I used to collect and use vintage fountain pens, and wanted to try a dip pen, and got hooked. There is something about the ceremony of it that really appeals to me.
